Zimbabwean footballer Adam Ndlovu dies in car accident aged 42

Sunday, December 16, 2012

Former Zimbabwean professional footballer Adam Ndlovu has died in a car accident that also left his brother critically injured. Adam and his brother Peter, also a former professional footballer, were in the accident after failure of a tire on the BMW X5 Adam was reportedly driving. Reports also suggest an unidentified female passenger may have died in the accident.

George Bhebhe, a friend of Adam, spoke to The Zimbabwean about the circumstances of the accident. He said “Adam died early this morning when their vehicle veered off the road after a tyre burst and hit a tree 20 km from Victoria Falls. He died on arrival at hospital. Peter is in critical condition and he is at Victoria Falls hospital in Intensive Care Unit. But arrangements still being made to transfer from there to a hospital in Bulawayo or Harare”.

Both Adam and Peter played for the Zimbabwe national football team and Peter is their all time top goalscorer. During his career Peter played in the English Premier League and played for Coventry, Sheffield United, Birmingham, and Huddersfield. Sheffield United tweeted “Our thoughts are with former player Peter Ndlovu, who has been critically injured in a car accident in his native Zimbabwe. #sufc”

Adam formerly played for the Zimbabwean team Highlanders and at the time of his death coached Zimbabwe Premier League team Chicken Inn, based in Bulawayo.

Injured And Traumatized In A Crash? Hire A Car Accident Attorney In Joliet, Il

byAlma Abell

A single mother was driving her kids to school when a speeding car hit them at an intersection. The other driver was still yelling on his cell phone when he got out of the car. Unfortunately the mother and her children had to wait for the rescue squad to get them out of their car. During that scary hour, the children kept crying and the mother was terrified for them. The mother and children all had severe whiplash injuries. Her parents advised her to call a Car Accident Attorney in Joliet IL.

The attorney understood that she couldn’t get to his law office. Therefore, he went to her home. After reviewing the case, he told her that she was injured by a negligent driver. Therefore, the negligent driver’s insurance company would have to pay damages to pay for everyone’s medical bills. The settlement would also cover her lost income while she recovered. Because she still had anxiety from hearing her children screaming for help, she was also entitled to damages for emotional trauma. She told him she had no money to pay for a Car Accident Attorney in Joliet IL.

He reassured her that lawyers take these kinds of cases on a contingency basis. A car accident case attorney in Joliet, only gets paid a percentage of the settlement that he wins for his client. This allows the poorest person to file a claim with the richest insurance company. The law firm pays all of the costs of preparing the claim and negotiating with the insurance company. If the insurance company refuses to settle out of court, then the law firm pays for the costs preparing for trial.

While the insurance company readily agreed to pay the cost of medical treatment and lost income, it declined the claim for emotional trauma. The car accident lawyer brought in psychologists and child therapists to explain the impact of being trapped in a car for an hour. When faced with the possibility of a jury trial, the insurance company agreed to the compensation for emotional trauma.

Kipnis and Kahn LTDis one of the Joliet law firms that represent injured people. They are always willing to review an injured person’s case.

Advertising contract scandal could bring down Canadian government

Friday, April 22, 2005

“Those who are in power are to be held responsible, and that includes me,” Canada’s Prime Minister, Paul Martin, told his nation in the first live address by a PM in ten years. “If so much as a dollar is found to have made its way into the Liberal Party for ill-gotten gains, it will be repaid to the people of Canada.” [1]

Conservative Leader Stephen Harper described Mr Martin’s broadcast as “a party leader playing for time, begging for another chance”.

“After the Prime Minister has shut down the democratic process here … my guess is there will be more people that are calling for some accountability, perhaps in the form of an election,” New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Jack Layton said.

A series of opinion polls show that in an election held today, a minority Conservative government would probably result, reports The Australian.

One dead after bus and bicycle crash in Hampshire, England

Monday, July 19, 2010

A person has died after being involved in a collision between a bus and a bicycle in Hampshire in the south of England, United Kingdom. The woman, who has not been publicly identified, was cycling in the seaside resort of Southsea when a number 700 Stagecoach single-decker bus, which was travelling from Brighton to Southsea, collided with her bicycle at approximately 1315 BST (1215 UTC) on Saturday. A helicopter transported the woman to Southampton General Hospital, where she died at approximately 1630 BST (1530 UTC) on the same day.

None of the occupants of the bus were injured. The 53-year-old bus driver has now been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Hampshire Constabulary is requesting any witnesses to the accident to contact them. PC Phil Hunt also mentioned: “We are also trying to trace the passengers, who left the scene before we could speak to them.”

The road traffic accident occurred in an area where Portsmouth City Council had been intending to place a new cycle route, but the plans to do so were cancelled last week. The plans, which would have cost £250,000 (US$382,373, €296,481, A$441,126), were said to have been cancelled due to financial difficulties.

Portsmouth Cycle Forum vice chair Jon Spencer has stated: “Sadly, we’ve had to wait less than a week for a brutal illustration of why we need this cycle route.” The vice chair of the local cycling group continued: “The road at Clarence Pier is very narrow, very crowded by parked cars and very busy. It is the most popular part of the seafront but at the moment it is a no-go area for cyclists. The city council are obviously happy for this to remain the case.”

This terrible accident is yet another reminder that large vehicles, busy traffic and cyclists are not a happy mix.

John Holland, the chair of the Forum, wrote on PompeyBUG, a local cycling Internet forum: “Portsmouth Cycle Forum is very sad to learn of the death in a road accident of a woman cyclist at Clarence Esplanade on Saturday 17 July. Our thoughts lie with her family and friends to whom send our deepest condolences. The cyclist was involved in collision with a bus in the vicinity of Pier Road and Clarence Esplanade, close to Clarence Pier.

“This terrible accident is yet another reminder that large vehicles, busy traffic and cyclists are not a happy mix. Whilst it will be some time before the details are made public, we urge the Portsmouth City Council to press ahead with making this section of our seafront much safer and calmer for all. Almost exactly one year ago, a cyclist was seriously injured Clarence Esplanade when a car reversed blindly from a parking bay into the road.

“Portsmouth City Council is on the verge of postponing Phase 2 of the Southsea Seafront Cycle Route. Had this been in place yesterday then this awful incident might have been avoided. We urge councillors to think again. A safe and segregated cycle route can be built – one which doesn’t loose any car parking, one which doesn’t stop people looking out to sea from their cars, one which doesn’t involve cycling on the promenade. We will be pushing hard for this – we don’t want any more injuries and fatalities on our seafront roads.”

US automaker bailout deal fails to pass Senate

Friday, December 12, 2008

A US$14 billion bailout package deal for the “Big Three” United States automakers — Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors — has been rejected in the United States Senate after failing a procedural vote.

The bill was rejected after bipartisan discussions on the bailout broke down when Republican Party leaders insisted that the United Auto Workers (UAW) union agree to increase wage cuts by next year in order to bring their pay into line with those of Japanese automobile companies in the United States. The UAW refused to meet the demands.

The final vote count in the Senate was 52-35, eight short of the 60 needed to pass. Only ten Republicans joined forty Democrats and two independents in voting for the bill. Three Democrats voted with thirty-one Republicans against it.

Senate Majority leader Harry Reid said that he was “terribly disappointed” by the failure of the bill to pass. “I dread looking at Wall Street tomorrow. It’s not going to be a pleasant sight,” Reid said. “Millions of Americans, not only the auto workers but people who sell cars, car dealerships, people who work on cars are going to be directly impacted and affected.”

Republican Senator Bob Corker was also unhappy about the rejection. “We were about three words away from a deal. We solved everything substantively and about three words keep us from reaching a conclusion,” he said.

Some Democrats now want U.S. President Bush to reserve a portion of the $700 billion bailout package earmarked for Wall Street to assist the flagging car industry.

Stock markets worldwide fell dramatically on the news, with Japan’s Nikkei average losing 484.68 points, or 5.6 percent, reaching a level of 8253.87 points. Shares in the auto companies Toyota, Nissan and Honda all dropped by no less than 10 percent apiece. European stocks, such as those in the United Kingdom and Germany, also lost ground, with the FTSE-100 index of leading shares falling 176.3 points to a level of 4,211 at midday.

Citizenship of Australian terrorists overseas under question

Wednesday, May 27, 2015

Yesterday, Australia’s Prime Minister proposed his government might strip individuals of their Australian citizenship if authorities consider them involved in terrorist activity.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott stated, “As flagged by me in my national security statement in February, we will be legislating within a few weeks to strip dual citizens involved in terrorism of their Australian citizenship”.

The Coalition government’s bill aims to empower the immigration minister to revoke Australian citizenship of dual nationals suspected of involvement in terrorist activity.

Speaking of procedural for stripping individual citizenship, immigration minister Peter Dutton said he would take advice from intelligence agencies, such as the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation.

Dutton said, “We would gather as much evidence as was possible and we would make a decision whether or not we thought somebody was captured by what is a tight definition in relation to somebody committing an act of terrorism, an act preparatory to, fundraising or supporting a terrorist organisation or providing financial support or indoctrinating young people into the ways of one of these cults.”

This news comes as the Australian wife of Islamic State fighter Khaled Sharrouf, Tara Nettleton, attempts to re-enter the country with her children. Khaled’s seven-year-old son appeared in an internet image Khaled posted last year — in which the boy was holding a severed human head.

NASA says Martian soil could sustain life

Thursday, June 26, 2008

The scientists behind the Mars Phoenix Lander project announced that the soil on Mars was more alkaline than expected and could sustain life.

Scientists at NASA or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration claimed that they were “flabbergasted” by their discovery on the possibility that life could grow on Martian soil.

“It is the type of soil you would probably have in your back yard, you know, alkaline. You might be able to grow asparagus in it really well. … It is very exciting for us,” said Sam Kounaves, the lead wet chemist at NASA.

The project did not elaborate any further if there was indeed life on Mars, down to the microbe level and instead stated that their discovery was only preliminary and more analysis will be needed.

There was still no evidence in the soil that “would preclude life,” and instead of an assumption of a toxic environment, Martian soil is actually, “very friendly.”

The discovery was made after the Mars Phoenix Lander scooped up Martian soil for analysis. The lander touched down on Mars on May 25, 2008 and has been conducting several survey projects.

THE INSTALLER ANSWERED ALL MY CALLS!!! The installer was very professional and supplied good service. Also, the salesperson was good and answered all questions and continued to work with me until the job was carried out. Mr. Forest (the installer) answered all my calls and was a good teacher when it came to studying the phones.

MOVED OUR EMAIL, SITE, & CELL PHONES TO THEM!! We really happy with our Cbeyond service. In reality, we’ve suggested it to friends of ours which have their own businesses. It was essential for our business to obtain a real T1 line rather of DSL. We haven’t had any problems with it going down. A great deal better than what I can say about our old DSL from AT&T/SBC. Its quicker, too. We even moved our email, website, and cell phones over to them.

How Can Rental Management Companies Help You Maintain Your Home?

How Can Rental Management Companies Help You Maintain Your Home?

by

Aaliyah Arthur

Rental management companies are often helpful for anyone who owns property. Whether you own a house or apartment homes, you cannot be there at all times to manage it. This is why you should find out how an experienced company can help you.

If you are like many homeowners, you probably want to make some profit off your property by renting it out. This means that you need to find and manage renters, which can feel like a full time job, especially if you have more than one house. This is why hiring a company for help is a good idea, since rental management companies can frequently find renters. They will do background checks and possibly even interviews to make sure they find tenants who have a history of paying their rent and not destroying homes. When you get renters, you need someone to collect the rent check each month. This may be difficult to do if your renters are often late on the rent, in which case the company you hire can start the eviction process when necessary.

Whether your home is being rented out or not, it is important to make sure that the appliances are in working order. If you plan to move back into the house at some point, you do not want to realize your appliances are broken the day you move in. Of course, if you have renters, appliances need to be fixed right away. This may be impossible for you to do if you live far away, which is why rental management companies can be helpful. They usually know several handymen and contracting professionals who can quickly and affordably make repairs.

Your home generally needs to be maintained at all times, not just when something is broken. For example, the lawn should be kept at a good height, not overgrown or dead. The plants and trees will occasionally need to be trimmed back, and weeds will have to be pulled. If you have a pool, it needs to be maintained while you are not there. If you have tenants in the house, you can arrange for them to take care of these needs. But when the home is empty, you need a company to make sure it looks nice. Fortunately, most rental management companies are happy to offer these services.

Whether you own a large apartment complex or a small condo unit, you could probably use some help maintaining the property. For this reason, look into hiring a business that can do it all for you. As long as you hire an experienced company that is affordable for you, the results should be good.
