Getting Rid Of Dark Spots On The Face}

Submitted by: Gracie Roloff

Too much exposure to the heat of the sun will cause dark spots to our face. Some are inherited and others get it from putting different exfoliates and astringents on their faces. Being vain is not bad however if you do not know what are the chemicals of the product you are using, it may give you some skin irritation like dark spots. Our face is composed of delicate tissues that need maintenance and care. That is why most women try different beauty products that will help their face looking young and glowing, also acne free. In addition, a face that has many pimples and went through many astringent applications will peel its original skin and will get thinner each day. This is where dark spots evolve. Dark spots are sometimes scars left by acne or pimples on your face.

Dark spots can be removed by using different treatments. There are creams and ointments in cosmetics that can help you get rid of dark spots. Dermatologists have many products that can help fade your dark spots slowly. At home, you will also find alternatives if you do not want to spend much for ointments and creams. A squeezed aloe Vera will produce a gel that is helpful to your skin. Apply an amount of aloe Vera gel unto your dark spots and to other scars on your face. Use it like a creamer, you may leave it on your face for the whole night and washed it after you wake in the morning.

If you heard about hydrogen peroxide, this is also another best treatment to be applied. Get a spoonful of hydrogen peroxide and mix it with 2 cups of water or the best ratio would be one is to ten. Mix it well and applied to your face. Just be careful not to allow any direct contact to the sun for it will worsen the condition of your face while applying this solution. Use this method for about a month, but do not exceed two months. This is only applicable for short-term application. Too much hydrogen peroxide on your skin is not advisable.

Rich people may go to dermatologist and have a facial surgery if the case is worst. Cosmetic surgery like this will help remove dark spots right away from your face and will give you a renewed skin. However, it is better for you to try the natural methods first to see the results and it will even help you save money.

You will find that a lot of the times, dark spots on the face can be genetic, rather than a mark that came out of the blue. Most of the time, people have found that when they consult with a plastic surgeon, they have many remedies, as well as procedures that can work for you. While everything online may not be true, youre going to find that if it sounds like its going to work, and doesnt seem dangerous, then give it a shot!

Judge orders residents and city to come to agreement on partially collapsed building in Buffalo, New York

Thursday, June 19, 2008

Buffalo, New York —Judge Justice Christopher Burns of the New York State Supreme Court has ordered a halt to an emergency demolition on a 19th century stable and livery on 428-430 Jersey Street in Buffalo, New York that partially collapsed on Wednesday June 11, initially causing at least 15 homes to be evacuated. At least two homes remain evacuated.

Burns orders that both the city and the group Save The Livery (www.savethelivery.com) have to come to an agreement on what to do with the building, and try to work out ways of saving at least some portions if it including the facade, side walls and a lift tower. Save The Livery is comprised of concerned area residents who have grown to love the building’s historic and unique character. On June 14, they won a temporary restraining order to stop demolition. The court ruled that the city was only allowed to remove material in immediate danger to residents and pedestrians, but stated that the demolition could only be performed with “hand tools.” The court also ordered that any rubble which had fallen into neighboring yards when the building collapsed, to be removed.

“It is in the interest of the city to have a safe environment–but also important to maintain a sense of historical preservation,” stated Burns in his ruling. Burns has given the sides until tomorrow (Friday June 20) to come to an agreement and has ordered both parties to return to court at 9:30 a.m. (eastern time) “sharp.” Activists of Save The Livery urge supporters of the stable to “fill the courtroom” to show “continued and ongoing support.” The hearing is scheduled to take place at 25 Delaware Avenue in the Supreme Court building, 3rd Floor, trial part 19.

Currently the building is owned by Bob Freudenheim who has several building violations against him because of the buildings poor condition. He has received at least five violations in three months and residents who live near the building state that Freudenheim should be “100% responsible” for his actions. Many are afraid that if the building is demolished, Freudenheim’s charges of neglect will be abolished.

On June 17, developer and CEO of Savarino Companies, Sam Savarino was at the site of the stable, discussing the building with residents and preservationists. In 2006, Savarino proposed and planned The Elmwood Village Hotel, a ‘botique’ hotel on the Southeast corner of Elmwood and Forest Avenues. The project was later withdrawn after residents filed a lawsuit against Savarino and the city. Wikinews extensively covered the story, and contacted Savarino for his professional opinion on the building.

“[I would] love to see it preserved. I was there to see if there was anything we could do to help, to see if anything can be salvaged. I just want to see the right thing happen, and so does the city,” stated Savarino to Wikinews who added that he was allowed inside the building for a brief period.

“The side walls are beyond repair. The roof has rotted and it could come down at any time,” added Savarino who also said that the building “below the second floor appears to be stable.” He also states that the back wall of the building, which borders several homes, appears to be intact.

“Eliminating the back wall could be a problem for the neighbors. It is not unreasonable to leave at least 12 feet” of the back wall standing, added Savarino.

Savarino did not say if he was interested in buying the property, but did state, “I am sure there are a couple of people interested” in buying the property. On Thursday, Buffalo News reported that a “businessman” might be interested in purchasing the property, though Wikinews is not able to independently confirm the report. Savarino says that with the property still slated for emergency demolition, a potential buyer could face tax fees of nearly US$300,000.

Freudenheim gave the city permission to demolish the building on Thursday June 12 during an emergency Preservation Board meeting, because he would not be “rehabilitating the building anytime soon.” Freudenheim, along with his wife Nina, were part-owners of the Hotel Lenox at 140 North Street in Buffalo and were advocates to stop the Elmwood Village Hotel. They also financially supported a lawsuit in an attempt to stop the hotel from being built. Though it is not known exactly how long Freudenheim has owned the stable, Wikinews has learned that he was the owner while fighting to stop the hotel from being built. Residents say that he has been the owner for at least 22 years.

The building was first owned by a company called White Bros. and was used as a stable for a farm which once covered the land around the building for several blocks. The Buffalo Fire Department believes the building was built around 1814, while the city property database states it was built in 1870. Servants and workers of the farm were housed inside resident quarters situated at the rear of the building on what is now Summer Street, but are now cottages where area residents currently reside. Some date as far back as 1829.

At about 1950, the stable was converted into an automobile body shop and gasoline station.A property record search showed that in 1950 at least four fuel storage tanks were installed on the property. Two are listed as 550 square feet while the other two are 2,000 square feet. All of the tanks are designated as a TK4, which New York State says is used for “below ground horizontal bulk fuel storage.” The cost of installing a tank of that nature according to the state, at that time, included the tank itself, “excavation and backfill,” but did not include “the piping, ballast, or hold-down slab orring.” It is not known if the tanks are still on the property, but residents are concerned the city was not taking the precautions to find out.

Scientology protest group celebrates founder’s birthday worldwide

Correction — March 19, 2008 The next protest is scheduled for April 12, 2008. The article below states April 18 which is incorrect.

Saturday, March 15, 2008

The Internet group Anonymous today held further protests critical of the Church of Scientology.

The global protests started in Australia where several hundred protesters gathered at different locations for peaceful protests.

In a global speech, the Internet protest movement said Scientology “betrayed the trust of its members, [had] taken their money, their rights, and at times their very lives.” The protesters welcomed the public interest their protests have led to, and claimed they witnessed “an unprecedented flood of Scientologists [joining] us across the world to testify about these abuses.” The group said it would continue with monthly actions.

In a press statement from its European headquarters, Scientology accused the anonymous protesters of “hate speech and hate crimes”, alleging that security measures were necessary because of death threats and bomb threats. This also makes the Church want to “identify members” of the group it brands as “cyber-terrorists”.

Wikinews had correspondents in a number of protest locations to report on the events.

Anonymous states that the next protest is scheduled to take place on April 18, which happens to be the birthday of Suri, the daughter of Tom and Katie Cruise.

Tips On Selecting A Pet Hospital In Alpharetta

byAlma Abell

When a pet is sick or injured, it is often extremely crucial they receive medical attention as soon as possible. Many times even a minor issue can quickly turn into a major problem for a pet if they do not receive the medical care they need promptly. While most veterinarian clinics and offices can handle seeing such pets if they are open, often a pet will be injured or ill outside of normal business hours. In such cases, it will be necessary to find a Pet Hospital in Alpharetta where they can be seen quickly.

Because prompt care can often be vital to a pet’s life, most pet owners will find it beneficial to locate the closest animal hospital to where they live. By knowing the hours and location of such a hospital, when an emergency arises, the pet owner will be able to handle it quickly and without hesitation.

In addition to finding a nearby location, it can also be a good idea to find a Pet Hospital in Alpharetta the pet’s regular veterinarian is associated with or familiar with. In doing this it can make the care for a pet much easier since the vet and the hospital will be able to communicate with each other about the condition of the animal. This can be essential in issues involving pets with medical conditions or other issues, which require special care. It can also be helpful in the recovery process as well. By choosing an animal hospital who will work with the veterinarian who regularly cares for the pet, information can be passed easily to the vet so care during recovery is handled efficiently.

In addition, to making sure a facility like, Animal Hospital of Nesbit Ferry Crossing is close by and recommended by the pet’s veterinarian, it can also be a good idea for the pet owner to pay a visit to the facility as well. By taking the time to visit the location before an emergency arises, the pet’s owner will be able to see first hand how the staff handles their patients and their owners. They can also see how clean and well maintained the facility is and the atmosphere in the facility. This can be very helpful in helping the pet owner to feel confident when bring their pet to the location for emergency care. Get in touch with us for more info.

Ford, Fiat to produce small cars together

Friday, September 9, 2005

Italian-based Fiat Auto SPA and US-based Ford Motor Co. announced they signed an agreement to cooperate in designing two small car models. This came only seven months after General Motors severed their relationship with Fiat.

Both companies plan to work together on a new version of the popular Fiat Cinquecento and on a replacement for the Ford Ka, both to be based on the Fiat Panda platform.

The cooperation can help reduce the companies’ small car production costs and ease financial difficulties they are facing. Ford is struggling with high labor and health care costs, while Fiat suffers from its unprofitable Italian plants.

After the deal was announced, shares of Fiat rose $0.06 to $9.44, while Ford gained $0.06 to $9.95 on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Doctor: Hoodies are a health risk

Thursday, November 16, 2006

According to New Zealand doctor, Doctor Glenn Twentyman from Child, Youth and Family Services at Wiri, South Auckland, hoodies can be a health risk because they block sunlight which causes a vitamin D deficiency, thus weak bones and low energy.

Dr Twentyman said: “It’s the hoodies and the hats and the downward glance of the teenagers, shading your face all the time.”

Dr Twentyman said that every young person that he had tested showed a deficiency of vitamin D. Vitamin D helps vital minerals to be absorbed into the bones. Vitamin D is given to our body from the sun. “A lot of these kids stay away from sunshine. They don’t hang out at the beach or in the bush. Some are into drugs and alcohol and a lot of it is indoor activity and night-time activity. They sleep during the day. They are wearing those hoods and literally they don’t get out in the sun.”

Even though vitamin D is usually absorbed through sun it can also be found in: fatty fish, liver, eggs, full fat milk and butter.

There is an increase in reports of vitamin D deficiency in Oceania. This is most likely because of people trying to cover up because of the higher risk of getting skin cancer due to the ozone hole over New Zealand. His comments come as evidence mounts of increasing vitamin D deficiency in Australasia, partly caused by covering up to avoid skin cancer. Also one student from Tangaroa College, Vincent Wesche, said that he wears a hoodie because “I don’t want to lose my hair,” also referring to rugby player, Carlos Spencer, “Carlos Spencer is starting to lose his hair from the sun.”

Doctor Cameron Grant, from Starship hospital in Auckland, said that he had done a study for four years which found that infants living in Auckland did have a deficiency of vitamin D. “We know that vitamin D deficiency is a health issue in New Zealand. We know that people who are at risk of vitamin D deficiency are for example groups who keep themselves clothed and keep themselves indoors for religious reasons … so his idea is not an unreasonable one.”

Another study also showed that 87% of pregnant woman living in Wellington were vitamin D deficient.

Dr Twentyman said that the people who are most likely to have a vitamin D deficiency are “depressed people and the elderly, such as those kept indoors in rest homes all day.”

Should Teenagers Get Breast Reductions?

Should Teenagers Get Breast Reductions?

by

A Aaronson

There has always been controversy centered on whether or not teenage girls should be allowed to go through cosmetic surgery procedures such as breast reductions. Many people believe that even the thought of allowing someone that young to go through this type of operation is unacceptable. However, there are cases where the surgery could benefit them.

For many people, the teenage years represent some of the most awkward times in their lives. It may be okay if parents and close relatives only noticed that awkwardness, but most times this isn’t really the case. There are also fellow peers who not only notice it, but they choose to make fun of it.

For instance, there are some teens that experience severe cases of acne that they have to constantly deal with, which causes them to have a low self-image. It doesn’t help when other students make rude comments about their issue. So, if students will make fun of someone with an acne issue, just think of the trouble a girl with extra large breasts would have. She would constantly have to worry about people making fun of her along with stares and strange looks from others. That’s why breast reductions are so beneficial in these cases. They help to alleviate these types of problems.

Now, this isn’t to say that all teenagers are bullies. There are some who may make insensitive remarks, not knowing that they are actually being rude. They may make comments out of curiosity. That’s because seeing a girl with extra large breasts at their age is not a normal thing. So, the girl would not only have to deal with bullies, but she’d also have to endure hearing remarks from those who are just genuinely curious.

Having to constantly handle these types of issues could really weigh heavily on someone, even adults. Therefore, the impact would be multiplied in the case of a young teen girl. This could cause her to go into depression and even begin dreading going to school.

In addition to the emotional relief, breast reductions provide physical relief in many cases. Carrying around a disproportionate amount of weight centered in one particular area can cause back problems, neck problems, and more. Surgery can relieve much of that discomfort in many cases.

So, it’s clear to see that in certain cases, breast reductions can actually be extremely beneficial for some teenagers. Of course, there are many instances where it may not be appropriate for growing teens to go through cosmetic surgery procedures. On the other hand, there are situations, such as the aforementioned, where these types of operations can help to make their lives much better.
